This post is way overdue already! Went to Hong Kong with my family before I started working for Shopwise. Half a year later, I’m finally writing this post and I’m not even sure if I remember the details correctly. LOL.
It was my first out of the country trip so I was so excited! Hooray for first times! \:D/ We were there last November 10-12, when Typhoon Yolanda destroyed so many parts of the Philippines 🙁 We weren’t even aware of the destruction until we saw it on the news. That’s why we didn’t post that much about this trip last year as it would be insensitive to those who were still recovering from the typhoon…
Anyway, here it is! 😀
Bought this pair at Payless (kids, size 4!) for only P200 at one of RGOC’s shoe sales XD
Took so many photos of random people! Some of these were posted here. Too bad I didn’t even have my own camera so I just borrowed my father and brother’s digicam. Most of the pictures were grainy so I had to edit most of them…
(ETA: I lost my retainers at NAIA! Huhuhuhuhu *stupid*)
We arrived in Hong Kong at around noon, just in time for lunch. I was with my family– the four of us including my Tita. We ate at a noodle eatery near our hotel (forgot the name!) and they didn’t like it. LOL. I actually thought the noodles were delicious but maybe I was just imagining it because it was legit. Haha. We didn’t have many photos there as the place is too crowded and the staff were not very friendly 😐
My initial thoughts when I first saw Hong Kong was that it looks so much like the Philippines– it’s like Makati with all these Chinese signages everywhere XD But the weather was so much better there– not too hot but not too cold either 😀
I think there were so many things we could have done during our stay, but being with my parents kind of made it impossible for my younger brother and I to wander around. Haha. Plus, we were in a day tour with other Filipinos as well so we had to follow their itinerary… It’s just a bit sad because in the afternoon, we just stayed in the hotel (we shouldn’t have checked in at a nice hotel to avoid oversleeping!!!) and wasted time 🙁
We went out to try their public transportation and to do a little bit of shopping as well. And because I was with my family, I can’t force them to walk faster or to travel somewhere far from where . we were staying. Shopping, of course, was a bit problematic for me since we rarely shop together. At the mall, we usually shop individually then just meet up afterwards.
Same thing happened when we were in Hong Kong. We just walked for about an hour and when it was my turn to do some shopping, they didn’t want to walk anymore. I ended up shopping with Tita because thank god she agreed to go with me so I can buy whatever I want!
I bought this dress (the one with the polka dots + lace collar) but in blue 🙂
Went to this really girly shop and fell in love with this super cute sales lady! She’s a hundred times prettier and more charming in person! Plus, she has good taste in clothes, too. 🙂
Too bad I have no pictures of the things I bought because I was too lazy, meh. I just bought a dress from the pretty girl in the picture, a kitty hat, a pair of brown combat boots, some souvenirs from the city for pasalubong, and…. I think that would be all XD *is broke*
Fangirled when I saw Barbie Xu and Dee Xu in Hong Kong! Planning to shift to Olay just because Barbie endorses this brand. Haha.
We ate our breakfast at McDonald’s on Day 2. Bleh. I just wish we tried something new but our hotel’s free breakfast was apparently from McDo so we had no choice. And my family wasn’t too keen on trying different food from Hong Kong. Hence, I haven’t even tried their street food yet. So I really, really have to go back! D:
Hong Kong at night! The city looked better at night because of all the lights, imo 🙂
Lol I’m sorry that this post is such a mess as I can’t remember the exact details from our trip. All I know is that I cannot wait to be back! The place is just relaxing and fun at the same time, perfect for days when you just need to go somewhere else to clear your mind 🙂
I’ll do a separate post for our Disneyland / city tour 😀 I think, of all the places we’ve been and all of the activities we experienced, Disneyland was of course, my favorite of them all. Hahaha, I’m such a kid ♥
