South Korea 2017 : Hanbok Experience at Gyeongbokgung Palace

It’s already 2019 and of course I’m not yet done with my South Korea posts, haha.  This is one of my favorites because I obviously love dressing up! We tried wearing cheongsam when we were in Jiufen so I didn’t want to miss the chance of putting on a hanbok when we were in Korea!

I read Jane’s super detailed Hanbok Rental post so we used it as a guide 🙂

I am absolutely in love with my dress T_T It’s pink and purple with pretty pink and white flowers.  It was my first choice and I’m just glad that it fits me, haha.  The staff from Seohwa hanbok knows your size the moment she sees you, it’s amazing! I know I should put my hair up but I didn’t want my face to look bloated in the pictures, HAHAHA.  I just had it dyed a deep red a few days before to match the color of autumn 😛 So I just curled the ends and put on some accessories.

We only rented the hanboks for half a day.  It was cold out and we didn’t want to walk much longer, lol.  Besides, the palace is big enough to walk around and take pictures for at least 3 hours.

The entrance fee for Gyeongbokgung Palace is free if you’re wearing traditional Korean clothing! 🙂 I think more than half of the people inside were wearing hanboks, it’s just too pretty especially when worn by large groups of people.  It made me feel like I was in a historical KDrama, despite not having watched any.  Hehe.

As usual, Rica and Ate Ria were so much better than me in posing for pictures. Hindi talaga ako marunong mag-emote, guys. They look so feminine while I still look like a huge, goofy mess.  How can I become a Princess, then? ;___;

Aah, but I love my hair color.  Reminds me a bit of Akatsuki no Yona!

Every bit of the palace is so picture-worthy! I can stay here all day (as long as I have food, of course).  I have friends who are not too fond of taking photos and/or posing in front of the cameras so this activity might seem boring for them, but I enjoyed this a whole lot.  Whenever I travel, as long as I get to eat and take good photos, I’m good.  Doesn’t take much to please me, tbh.

I almost have a thousand photos of this activity alone.  I’m obsessed with my dress and with pretty much everything I saw there.  It was freezing (I was still wearing heattech tops and leggings underneath, else I wouldn’t survive the cold) but it was so worth it for me.

We only have ONE group shot because everyone’s busy taking pictures of their friends and family and I’m a bit scared I might disturb them.  They aren’t as accommodating as Taiwanese locals in my opinion so unless I see anyone willing to take photos of us, I just rely on my camera’s self-timer.  This was a pretty good shot minus the man on the left side, lol.  Sad that this part of the palace was under construction, it looked like there was a beautiful pond inside.  Another reason to go back!
